In the vibrant city of Melbourne, urban expansion and sprawl have become a reality of our rapidly changing world. But have you ever wondered about the impact of this growth on our air quality? longer commutes, traffic congestion, and elevated vehicle emissions, all contributing to rising levels of air pollution that pose significant threats to our health and the environment. On the other hand, the challenges posed by increasing urban density, such as concentrated buildings and limited green spaces, exacerbate the issue by trapping pollutants and creating local pollution hotspots. In my study, I aim to analyse extensive data and exploring the interplay between urban form and air pollution, trying to uncover the intricate connections and develop evidence-based guidelines for sustainable planning where clean air, thriving green spaces, efficient public transportation, and a focus on well-being take precedence, paving the way for a brighter and healthier future for all.
